It was a rather stormy day when the two lovebirds Matheus and Marília Pieroni from São Paulo, Brazil, were preparing for the most important day in their lives. The two were hoping to have their wedding ceremony outdoors, but it just kept on raining and raining.
Luckily, they had a backup plan ready and the couple and the wedding guests all relocated inside a large tent. Only a few moments later, a stray dog decided to run into the tent and effectively crash the wedding, but the couple’s reaction is absolutely heartwarming.
This four-legged wedding crasher was just looking for a place to hide, and what better place to hide than a tent full of people in the middle of a wedding ceremony? The stray pup clearly also wanted a bit of attention, and some of the guests tried to redirect the dog so he wouldn’t interrupt the ceremony.
In hilarious fashion, the dog decided to steal the spotlight anyway.
“As the ceremony started, to everyone’s surprise, it was the dog who came in when the bridal chorus began to play,” the bride said to The Dodo.
A couple of guests tried their best to keep the dog busy, and the ceremony could proceed as planned. When their new four-legged friend suddenly decided to show up again, Matheus and Marília couldn’t stop smiling, even though they were in the midst of reading their vows. He even wanted to sit on the bride’s veil!
“The dog entered and laid down to sleep on my veil,” she recalls.
With the storm getting worse, everybody agreed that it was best to keep the stray dog warm and safe in the tent. Marília is an animal lover and didn’t even mind the pup sleeping on her beautiful veil.
“It was a very pleasant surprise for me, because I love animals,” she said. “I liked it very much.”
The newlyweds had the time of their lives, and the storm had already settled a bit when the festivities ended. The stray dog managed to disappear unnoticed, but Matheus and Marília definitely felt a connection to the pup and were sad to realize that he left. They said the same night that they would try and track him down so that they could give him the warm and welcoming home he deserves.
The couple asked around and searched for the dog for over a week until they finally were able to find him again.
“We decided to adopt him because he is a street dog,” Marília recalls. “It took us a long time to find him again, but yesterday, we were contacted and told his whereabouts. He came home, and I showered him,” she said. “He played a lot, ate, drank water. He is very happy and slept super good the first night.”
The couple named the adorable pup “Snoop” and what started as a family of two, has quickly turned into a loving family of three. How heartwarming!
