Taking care of kids could be quite a handful, especially when they are nearly impossible to stop. When our kids get a little too energetic, what we do is discipline them before they get much worse. However, humans are not the only ones who are good at enforcing discipline — animals do this as well.

Why showing dominance is important to wolves.

Wolves are pack animals. That means they work together as a group to survive in the wild. Every wolf pack has a leader called the alpha. The alpha wolf should be strong enough and persuasive as he enforces discipline on the other wolves in the pack.

Usually, it is the parents who become the alpha, and they rely on their powerful stature to show their dominance while the less-dominant members would display their submissive behavior as a show of respect to the hierarchy.

A wolf couple was just blessed with seven wolf cubs, and taking care of each one of them is enough to take a parent out. The mom and dad were lying on the ground resting while their overly energetic pups were playing on their own.

Lighthawk, the wolf dad, was taking his sweet time resting until one of his cubs started to approach him. The cub started licking his dad’s face as if it was urging him to play. The dad got annoyed and started growling. However, the cub would just roll on its back for a little while and stood up to do the same thing again. As the cub could not get what it wanted, it lost interest and walked away.

In the next scene, more feisty cubs appeared in front of him.

The wolf stayed to rest on the same spot and another playful cub went to his father and rolled down on his tail. As the dad was still on the verge of resting peacefully, he woke up annoyed at his cub who was urging him to play with him.

The dad showed his fangs, and the cub tried his best to stop his father from getting angrier. After a while, a second cub appeared and played with his sibling who was at his father’s side.

Their father could not stop twitching his ears as the two cubs were freely pouncing on each other besides him. Even if he tried his best to hide his growing temper, there is always a limit.

Eventually, his patience dropped to none as he just could not take any more of his cubs’ relentlessness. The enraged wolf dad then unleashed all his anger to the cubs and left the spot.

In the end, the two cubs still followed their grumpy father.
