When Northeast Animal Rescue in China says they received a call about a puppy on the side of the country, they sprung into action.
It isn’t clear whether or not the caller tried to approach the puppy or not before calling.
But sure enough, there was a tiny black puppy when rescuers arrived at their location.
“We received a call saying a black puppy appeared near the country road. We rushed to the location to search along the road. We found a puppy on the edge of the woodland by the road,” Northeast Animal Rescue explained in a video of the animal’s rescue.
This puppy was just randomly sitting in the grass, plopped down all by himself.
But when humans got out of their vehicle to approach the dog, the animal mysteriously wasn’t scared.
“Somebody abandoned those puppies. They’re clearly used to being around humans,” wrote one YouTube commenter.
“They looked like they were young but perfectly normal pups so they had to have been alive for a very good amount of time plus they weren’t feral in the slightest and were actually the opposite so it’s likely they’ve had a lot of human interaction and later got dumped,” said another.
In fact, the puppy seemed excited to see humans and hopped up.
The pup walked down the trail slightly and then back up it as if it was signaling to the humans that it wanted to be followed. So, the rescuers followed the puppy.
The puppy immediately started running and it seemed like it was deliberately trying to show the humans something.
He was hopping along in the tall grass until he stopped and the humans realized what it was that he wanted to show them.
It was his siblings. There were a total of three puppies, two boys and a girl.
Instead of being close to one another the puppies were all separated and spread out amongst the brush and tall grass.
These puppies all seemed excited to see the humans.
They weren’t afraid at all. One of the rescuers brought out some water and poured it into a bowl for the puppies to drink.
One of the puppies ran over to start gulping down the water.
This poor pup couldn’t have been thirstier and was drinking the water as fast as he could.
Then, one by one, the other dogs came over to get something to drink too.
Not only were they thirsty but they were hungry too.
The rescuer brought out some food and the puppies ravenously devoured it.
“The way they gabbled meant they hadn’t eaten and drunk for some time,” the video explains.
“It also meant that mom hadn’t been back for some time. Something must have happened to mom”=We waitied for a long time but mom never showed up we decided to take them away. We waitied for a long time but mom never showed up we decided to take them away.”
Some YouTube commenters had a theory on why this was.
“You didn’t find the mother dog because someone dumped those puppies,” wrote one commenter.
In the meantime, these puppies were still chowing down. After they finished eating, they were taken away and named Panther, Bear, and Myna.
They were given a good bath and a clean cozy place to sleep.
