When you take a look at the adorable pup Cora Rose now, you’ll see an energetic furball with tons of affection for everyone around her. However, Cora Rose’s life was hanging on a very loose thread when she got hit by a car.

Vets thought that she wouldn’t survive at all or have a life worth living, and were contemplating letting her sleep forever.

However, animal rescuers didn’t give up on this pup – and neither did she.

Cora Rose was taken to an animal shelter in California a couple of months ago, and she was found with her two front legs completely shattered. The damage was extremely significant and the animal rescuers couldn’t even begin to imagine the tremendous pain this pup must’ve been in.

Aside from her broken legs, her pelvis was also completely shattered.

Although the rescuers can’t be a hundred percent sure, her injuries are consistent with a severe car collision.

To make things worse, one of Cora Rose’s front legs had to be amputated right away because it became infected, and things weren’t exactly looking bright for this pup.

After the initial emergency first aid, Cora was then transferred to the rescue organization Marley’s Mutts, where they hoped that they could still help Cora Rose live a worthy life.

Unfortunately, with her second lag about to amputated as well, her quality of life remained a huge question mark.

However, Zach and Heather Skow from the rescue organization overwhelmed this sweet and courageous pup with an infinite amount of care and affection, even though they know it would be an incredibly difficult journey. After consulting with some experts, they all agreed that they would assist sweet Cora Rose on her brave road to recovery.

“We struggled with whether it was right to try to save her,” Heather said to The Dodo.

Her second leg had to be amputated as well, but Cora Rose was absolutely determined to fight.

Slowly but surely, the sweet pup started to regain and build some strength in the other two legs.

It took a while before she was able to stand up and walk – but the important thing is that she eventually could.

Even though she seemed to be doing everything with her back legs just fine, Cora Rose did receive a special wheelchair built just for her so that she could move a lot faster. It also put less burden on her body. According to Zach and Heather that took her in, this pup really started to thrive.

In fact, she was a part of the family now, and she also befriended the family’s other pets. She’s especially fond of the cat Henry but gets along with the three other dogs in the family just fine. She also isn’t afraid to show a bit of her sassy side from time to time, and can even funnily boss the others pups around sometimes.
