Dogs make the perfect companions. They are loving and cuddly. But they also have other keen skills.
Their heightened senses allow them to detect things that humans just can’t. That’s why dogs are employed in a variety of fields. These dogs receive training and go to work every day just like you and me.
Dogs are employed by police departments, the military, and fire stations. Dogs also help people with disabilities as guide dogs or serve as therapy dogs. And just like us, they have to go through the first day at work jitters just like we do.

They start them young at the West Midlands Police Department. These tiny little pups have been in training since birth. They will grow up to be big and strong police dogs.

This is his first service dog assignment. He got to go on a field trip to the Turkey Hill Ice Cream Factory. While he seems a little distracted now, he’ll be trained up in no time.

When Herbie goes into the office, he needs to sit at a desk. He’s the office moral booster. But he wants to be recognized with a name plate and desk.

Everyone needs to learn the ropes from someone. These puppies are learning the ropes from an older police dog. One day they’ll be members of the South Yorkshire Police Department but for now they are just puppies.
