A second chance is important because, for some, it’s the only chance they’ll ever get.

Living as a stray is difficult as no place is safe and food is always scarce.

Thankfully, through the efforts of kind-hearted people, especially a child all the way from the United States, a couple of strays found their way back into living their best lives.

Two dogs were found stranded on the edge of a river.

The dogs were found huddled together under discarded roofing materials and by the edge of a concrete ledge about four feet above the water line.

As they approached the older dog, the team of rescuers could hear faint growling coming from under the roofing material.

As they peeked under the makeshift shelter, a puppy was growling at them.

Strays can be aggressive but one should understand why they are acting such. For this puppy, the sudden arrival of people can be a bit overwhelming for him, especially with his condition.

Puddles, as they named the puppy, is almost blind.

The symptoms were obvious in his eyes and it might be the reason for his aggression.

The puppy felt vulnerable.

He doesn’t know who the rescuers were and their intentions so he relied on the only thing he knew how to do.

Meanwhile, his mom doesn’t seem to notice what was happening. It was soon revealed that she was deaf. The mother, Storm, served as her child’s eyes and Puddles became her ears.

The rescuers took the dogs out of their river spot and moved them to a shelter.

The difference in the dogs’ attitudes changed instantly. It seemed like the dogs felt the rescuers’ intentions – that all they want was for them to be safe and cared for.

Puddles became much more comfortable and started giving them kisses instead of growling at them. It was still a long way to go, but he was already starting to heal.

Then, a little girl named Raven learned about the dogs and wanted to find them a home in the United States.

With her own effort, Raven started a fundraiser to help with the logistics.

The money was planned to cover veterinarian fees, transportation fees, and other things that needed payment. Thankfully, she pooled enough resources to get the dogs.

Puddles, now grown up, is way different than when he was first found. From a terrified and aggressive puppy, he became a dog that just loves to play.

More than raising funds, Raven taught him how to be himself and how to live life with a curiosity and energy of a puppy. At first glance, you wouldn’t even notice that he was blind!

Raven is now looking to rehome Puddles.

“I want to find a forever family for him so I can save more dogs!” the little girl said in a video from The Dodo. “He’s a real snuggle bug, and I like watching movies with him, and he is so sweet.” She described as she ran her hand over the puppy’s coat. “Who wants him?”

Raven’s family is hoping to meet a person who would accommodate Puddles’ needs and embrace his story. You can visit Mission Pawsible’s adoption page here.
