Aww, that ending melted my heart. <3

No one knows how a Husky got himself into trouble in a Romanian river, but luckily we know how he got out.

Someone hears a struggle

Two men passing by heard the noise as the dog tried to scale a concrete wall at the side of the river.

It was slippery and too steep and no matter how hard the dog tried, he just couldn’t use it to get out of the cold water.

When the men peered over to see what was happening, they quickly sprang into action. All the Husky could do at that point was try to stay above water until someone rescued him.

Brought to safety

It appears the men put down the camera to get the dog onto a concrete barrier and therefore we don’t have footage of his first trip out of the water.

The video cuts back in to show one rescuer and the grateful pup out of the water.

The dog is already grateful to be out of the water and knows exactly who to thank.

So it might have been a surprise to be headed towards the river again.

Once more into the river

The pair is then forced to take the plunge a second time since they’re simply stranded on a block of concrete in the middle of the river and need to get to the shore.

While some people hate to see dogs grabbed by the scruff of the neck, it’ll do in a pinch. In fact, that’s how mother dogs carry their puppies. So most animals have the instinct to relax when they’re lifted by their scruffs (as long as they don’t associate it with abuse).

The rescuer needs a hand to keep his balance so he holds the dog up with the other and brings him across the water.

Once a dog is big, carrying it by the scruff does put a lot of weight on the one small area, but in this emergency case where it only lasts less than a minute, it seems fine.

On dry land

We’re not sure who is holding the camera at this point but the rescuer manages to pass off the pup to the second man, who then pulls him onto dry land.

(We assume the rescuer went back for his shoes at some point!)

And he waits to let go of the pup until they’re safely away from the water’s edge.

Gratitude

Commenters were overjoyed to see the dog brought to safety in this wholesome video.

And what really sealed the deal was the dog’s grateful reaction once all four paws were touching dry land.

He lept around his rescuer and ran in circles yelping his relief (and perhaps his thanks). And that brought a big smile to the man’s face as well.

People couldn’t help but hope one of them decided to take the Husky home.

But they did give him lots of love and some good, warming snuggles after the ordeal.
