Friendship is a mysterious thing – no one knows when and where it will happen. As a matter of fact, humans are not the only ones who develop this kind of relationship with others. Sometimes, animal friendship may be one of the weirdest yet the sweetest thing that we could ever witness.
One unusual friendship we have found on the internet is between this emu and a dog.
Emus are the second-biggest bird species next to its close cousin, the ostrich. These birds grow up to 1.9 meters in height. Additionally, emus are flightless by nature and they usually use their slender legs to move around. Unexpectedly, one emu became friends with a housedog. The emu was still young, but its energy was boundless after seeing his friend walked by her.
Meet Emee the emu and Molly the dog, the pair that captured everyone’s hearts on the internet.
Emee the emu was from Yorkshire, England, and she lived with her mom, Sue Holmes, as well as the adorable family dog, Molly. The black-white emu was still a chick when the video was shot, and she was just a bit taller than Sue’s living-room couch. Molly, on the other hand, was a gorgeous, black pittie whose gentleness and friendliness were beyond compare. Both of them instantly became best friends after a fateful encounter on the house.
It was Emee’s first time seeing a dog and her reaction was just priceless.
Emee was just chilling with Sue in the living room when Molly suddenly waltzed in the room.
The bird became curious about the doggy that she started setting her eyes on Molly. The dog pretends to ignore the bird and tried to do his business in the room, but the moment she saw Emee rolling on the floor, she immediately changed her mind and instead approached Emee and Sue.
The emu was excited to see Molly walking past by her, and while the dog was going towards Sue, the curious bird trailed behind the dog with her most playful strut.
After greeting her owner, Molly started playing along with the energetic Emee.
Molly was there to receive some love from Sue, and perhaps, she also wanted to ask Sue about the weird bird running about the house. As Sue had no idea what Molly was on about, Molly just turned back only to be greeted by Emee. Molly zoomed out of the room and the surprised Emee just lost it and ran around the room.
When Emee realized that Molly was coming back inside, her long bird legs acted once again and strutted as she sprinted around the dog. At the end of the clip, you can see Emee giving Molly a curious peck from behind. The surprised dog immediately stood up and ran away from Emee while Sue blocks Emee’s path with her leg.
The original clip was posted on Sue Holmes’ Facebook page where it has been viewed by millions of people. The video then got re-uploaded on YouTube by NovedadesES and was viewed over 200k times.
