The pups live in The Netherlands with their parents and a whole host of other animals that they’ve learned to get along with — from sugar gliders to albino hedgehogs.

But some of their most adorable moments involve the ducks the family keeps.

In a video posted on May 4, 2020 that has over 240,000 views, daughter dog Coco gets to know some freshly hatched duckling roommates — and boy is it adorable!

While Loulou is quite used to the other animals in the house, Coco is still a puppy and needs some extra time.

The video begins with a duckling emerging from its shell.

Pretty soon, we see the newborn getting its first glimpse of the world.

Then we cut to a few days later when all the chicks have hatched and are getting to know one another before they’re introduced to the other species in the house.

There are five Mandarin ducklings in total and Coco’s owner decides to take just one for an initial introduction (apparently, Loulou was out at the vet at this point, so there were no distractions).

Coco’s first reaction is something along the lines of “Um, what is that, and why are you making me look at it?”

She’s just a puppy after all.

After she gives the chick a good sniff, Coco seems to tentatively decide that they can be friends.

And the two look so adorable together that our hearts are melting just looking at this screenshot (though our little duckling seems unconvinced that it’s in a safe space).

Now it’s time for the whole brood to join Coco in her bed.

After all, if there’s going to be household harmony, everyone needs to learn to share their space.

Of course, a bunch of ducklings taking over your bed is quite the disruption, so Coco quickly needs a break and heads off for some alone time.

We can totally relate.

But then something even more adorable happens.

Coco seems to look back to make sure everyone is ok and some of the ducklings begin to follow her. They clearly want to know where their new friend is going!

But Coco really is over the whole meet-and-greet, so she tries to sneak away.

The escape plan is an epic fail, however, as the tiny ducklings begin to follow her. She looks a tad exasperated.

But after a quick breather, Coco returns to survey the brood (or just wonder when she’s going to get her bed back).

It’s so sweet to watch her observe these completely new creatures — and many commenters were shocked that she was curious and gentle.

“I still don’t understand how your doxies don’t go after the birds my doxy would be trying to eat them,” said one YouTube viewer.

But there’s no duck for dinner in this house.

As you can see, everyone is getting along just fine.
