Dogs are such playful creatures. You could play with them for hours, and you’ll still be the one who ends up exhausted. They are just some highly energetic “floofs” who chase the fun under the sun.

It’s always clear when a dog wants to play.

It’s easy to tell if your dog is rearing to go for a run outside, especially if he drops a toy beside you. They wag their tails happily as they wait for your approval, and sometimes they show you their irresistible puppy eyes that effectively wear down your defenses with their cuteness.

Sometimes, a pup will encounter a fellow dog or another animal and instantly get along with them. The only thing you should do is make sure that your dog is away from harm, especially when it is an animal that’s larger than them.

In a cute video, Jamie-Rae Fifield takes her French bulldog, Ellie-Mae, outside her house. That is when Ellie meets a stray buck in her backyard. The energetic pup confronts the large, horned buck without fear and tries to play with it. At the same time, Fifield makes sure that her pup won’t go too far from her.

It instantly became a game of tag between Ellie and the buck.

The adorable bully intimidates the buck into catching her as she sprints to and fro around him. The elusive little puppy evades the buck’s advances, and she playfully barks at him.

The buck can’t keep up with Ellie’s speed as he tries to catch her. After a short while, Ellie finds her cue and begins chasing the buck as hard as she can until they’re out in the woods. Fifield immediately goes to fetch the puppy.

It seems that the game of chase went for about 30 minutes.

Even before Fifield started recording this particular video, her dog and the buck had already been playing for more than 20 minutes straight. Even though Fifield’s family was out in the open, the deer showed no fear whatsoever and continued playing with Ellie. The deer was even said to be visiting them and their neighbors back and forth. In such a peaceful environment, the deer could freely hang out with others, especially with his tag playmate, Ellie.

Though it looks like the deer was defending himself, Fifield clarified the situation.

The clip was posted on YouTube and got 1.8 million views. However, some people were telling her in the comments that the deer was defensive, and she should not be letting her pup play with it. Fifield explained that the deer was not at all defensive, and she believed that the deer was used to hanging out in other people’s yards.

One more thing that dog owners should note.

Since pups could be overly friendly, they could easily misread the other animal’s actions. If you know that your dog has this friendly and easygoing nature, it is best to keep watch as they interact with other animals. Fortunately, in Ellie-Mae and Fifield’s case, the deer was proven to be friendly and curious, and Fifield was able to monitor the whole situation.
