Woman passes by nativity scene and can’t stop laughing when she sees ‘Baby Jesus’

In the debate between cat and dog owners, the typical arguments are usually the same. Dog owners accuse cats of being disinterested, boring, and having no utility. Cat owners accuse dogs of being overbearing, clingy, and too big! Let’s be honest though; those are all fair critiques!

One cat recently proved that it has no problem fitting the description of “irreverent”!

While walking around one day, a man noticed something quite interesting. Passing by a nativity scene, he saw that in the place where “baby Jesus” usually slept, a cat was sitting! The cat was totally acting like it was in the perfect location.

The funny thing about cats is that they think of themselves in that way quite a bit!

Of course, cats would view themselves as divine and perfect in nature; that’s what dog owners critique about them! It looks like a funny spot to sit, but cats seem to take the “throne” without any qualms.

The man passed by and was able to snap a photo to laugh at later.

The cat has one of those classic “grump faces” – being humanities savior must be hard work! Thankfully, the man was able to get a picture and could laugh at it later, along with the rest of the internet. As we inch ever closer to the holiday season, we may see this situation happen again!

Apparently, cats and nativity scenes have a bit of history and legend behind them.

One Facebook user wrote something most of us have never heard before!

“There is a legend on why tabby cats have a M shaped mark on their foreheads. Supposedly it was a purring tabby that soothed a baby Jesus to sleep and Mary blessed all tabbies by placing the letter M on their foreheads, so this pic reminds me of that beautiful legend.”

The result of that post was for people to start showing off all their own nativity scenes that had been invaded by our feline friends.

Even in the smallest of nativity scenes, the cat found them incredibly comfy.

This cat seems to be really enjoying the decorative fluff that the owners put down on the ground. The fluff was supposed to look like straw and dirt that would typically be found in a barn – to this cat, it looked like a bed!

Another cat was scared stiff by the bigger figures.

In this yard-sized nativity scene, it looks like the cat is paralyzed! He was probably just walking along when he noticed the mini-humans sitting in his yard. Who knows how long he sat there for!

No matter if you are a cat or dog person, we can all admit these pictures are funny!

Even if you don’t like cats, we can all laugh at how goofy they can be. They are incessantly curious and always getting themselves into trouble. This coming holiday season, it may be worth putting up a camera near your yard’s nativity scene!
