A group of rescuers found an older dog by a stream in Turkey that suffered severe injuries and he even was paralyzed. It was immediately clear to the rescuers that this dog was abused by his owner and got left behind as a piece of trash. Mainly because of his paralysis, rescuers feared that he wouldn’t be able to make it alive, but this brave dog had no intention of giving up just yet.
When they brought the senior canine back to their rescue clinic to take a closer look at his wounds, he started wiggling his tail as a way to let the rescuers know that he was still fighting.
Despite the fact that the dog was paralyzed, rescuers understood this as a sign to keep going.
The adorable dog – who was named Khan by one of the rescuers – remained in the hospital for weeks and slowly but surely recovered. It literally took blood, sweat, tears until Khan became his old self again, and the rescuers and doctors gave him all the attention, affection and love he rightfully deserved.
In the weeks of his rehabilitation, his paralysis still hindered his movements and he couldn’t even sit or stand upright by himself. His tail, however, never stopped wiggling.
The name ‘Khan’ was chosen because of his incredible fighting spirit and ‘never give up’ mentality.
Khan was a bit reluctant at first to let humans approach him, which is understandable because of the horrible abuse he had to undergo. After a while, it looks like Khan started to realize that the rescuers were there to help and he slowly opened up again.
The video footage captured shows how Khan regains his trust in humans and it didn’t take long before the dog could start walking again. It’s clear that Khan has become very affectionate toward his rescuers, as he likes to cuddle them and jump in their arms. It truly is a heartwarming rescue story.
Khan enjoyed spending his days around in the veterinary center with his rescuers. When he was looking for a forever home, a young woman saw Khan in the center and decided to adopt him. According to the Holidogtimes, Khan especially enjoys going for a walk with his new owners.
This dog truly beat all the odds. Rescuers thought his chances of survival were extremely slim, but his fighting spirit could never be broken.
