Who doesn’t love a good, old-fashioned Disney movie? We’re talking about the days of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs when princesses used to sing to wild animals and the animals would fully appreciate the music. As much as we loved those moments, we never thought that they could happen in real life – that’s until one Reddit user shared the most breathtaking video with us!

The video shows a girl playing a harp, whilst a deer in the background slowly approaches.

She’s clearly being drawn in by the music and seems totally transfixed on the harp as the woman plays. She gets right up close while the woman is playing, and the video is so amazing to see.

The video was shared onto Reddit by u/Noomie90 in July 2020, and it has more than 33,000 upvotes, as well as hundreds of comments and shares. We begin by seeing the woman, named Naomi, playing the opening notes of “The Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel on her harp. She’s standing in a scenic field, and all seems peaceful until there’s movement in the background of the shot.

It’s a deer, and she approaches Naomi cautiously.

She’s obviously torn between her wariness towards humans and her enjoyment of the sound coming from the harp, so she continues to move closer and closer. Amazingly, the deer is brave enough to get a couple of feet away from the woman, and she then stands on the spot for a few seconds to take in the beautiful sounds of the harp.

Finally, the deer decides that she’s seen enough, and scampers back into the forest.

Hilariously, this then startles Naomi, who was so focused on playing the harp that she hadn’t even realized that she was sharing her music with a very appreciative deer! It was only when she watched back her footage that Naomi had noticed the deer approaching her, and she just knew that she had to share it with everyone.

Apparently, Naomi has been playing the harp only since December, but she explains on Reddit that having a musical background meant that learning the harp was more about the technique than the theory. She adds:

“Hand coordination is probably the trickiest aspect, but unlike an instrument like, say, the violin or the trumpet where producing a good sound can be difficult, a well tuned harp never sounds that bad… It’s a soothing instrument to play for this reason, because even mistakes aren’t painful to hear.”

We think that she did a brilliant job!

Many people took to the comments to share their love for the video, with one person saying:

“Awww that’s so cute! It was all hesitant to approach, but I think it liked your music! So wholesome how it was scared to get close, but then you got startled when you saw it as well,”

To which Naomi replied, “Thank you! I was definitely the deer in headlights in this situation…”

Another person commented: “This Halloween dress up as Snow White and do it again.” We think that’s a great idea! Naomi replied, saying, “Haha, hopefully I can attract a few bunnies and squirrels too.” Watch this space!

We think that Naomi is like a real-life Snow White, and we’d love to see more videos like this. Let us know if you agree!
