“The right place at the right time.” We say this for almost anything in our lives.

We experience unplanned and unexpected events in our lives that would make us say it was a blessing in disguise. Probably a person we accidentally met that changed our lives, or a missed opportunity because there was a better one waiting.

At times, we relate this to pets that came into our lives.

Some people said they were never into pets, but they saw a stray dog or cat who needed help. Mostly, they foster these strays or even adopt them. Like we always say, the rest is history.

So, when Jackie and Carly met Poppy, they had a feeling she was meant to be part of their lives.

Jackie said they noticed this pregnant dog on the street, looking hungry and weak. She knew they needed to help her, so she gave her food. But this wasn’t enough for a pregnant dog.

Both Jackie and Carly tried to earn the poor dog’s trust.

Poppy looked very skittish around the two humans who handed her the food. As time went on, she grew more comfortable with Carly, and you could see an instant bond between the two.

Jackie decided to take Poppy home with them so she would be safe.

They took her to the vet, and they gave her a flea bath and some treatment. When they were sure that she was safe, they brought her home. But unlike other dogs who come into a new home, Poppy felt right at home.

She calmly walked into the room as if she’s been there her whole life.

Poppy wasn’t interested in doing something crazy. She jumped on the couch, laid down, and wanted some cuddles.

A few days after, Poppy gave birth to nine puppies! Amazing.

Jackie said that she started giving birth at 11 o’clock late at night and finished around four in the morning. All puppies were healthy and strong, and Poppy never left their side. She loved cuddling and snuggling with her little ones.

Jackie admitted how these puppies made her life much happier.

The puppies rush to her, and those happy tails wag when they are with their favorite human. Their little antics always made Jackie’s day.

However, they were aware that they also must find their forever homes.

As much as they wanted to keep them, Jackie and Carly knew they could not take care of all nine. It would be in their best interest if they were fostered or adopted by others. They recognize that raising all nine puppies would strain their resources.

But they planned on keeping Poppy with them.

They processed her adoption so she could have her forever home with Jackie and Carly. The two just can’t get enough of Poppy’s sweet demeanor. Since day one, she always loved their hugs (Carly’s most especially), and it never stopped. Jackie also believed that she arrived in their lives at the perfect time.

We’re happy to see Poppy have a sweet and loving home with Jackie and Carly.
