One day, Laura Macaluso spotted the adorable little tuxedo kitten Panda, who appeared lost in the middle of a field and was looking for his mom.
According to Laura, the little cat they spotted was extremely exhausted and was likely wandering around for a long time without proper food or water. He couldn’t even make any meowing sounds.
“I think because of the street, he lost the ability to meow,” Laura mentioned to Love Meow.
Laura spent a lot of time looking for the little cat’s mother or family, but they realized that Panda likely didn’t have anyone to go back to. He also wasn’t healthy anymore and was dealing with an upper respiratory infection, likely due to dehydration.
“He was severely dehydrated, so I took him in.”
Originally, Laura wanted to take him just to take care of him and give him up for adoption when he has healthy. When Laura’s boyfriend Vincent met the little guy, however, he immediately said: “He’s not going anywhere.”
The couple decided to take in Panda themselves and found him covered in all sorts of fly eggs and ticks. They realized that feeding him was absolutely crucial, so they gave him a bottle of kitten formula immediately after he was found. Thereafter, Panda was given a thorough bath to relieve him of his ticks.
Just one day later, Panda has gone through an incredible transformation, from not being able to walk to being a healthy and clean adorable kitten.
“He is still small for his age but is growing every day. I suspect he was the runt due to his size.”
Laura describes Pinda to be a kitten with a heart of gold.
“He’s the sweetest kitten. He hates being alone but sleeps while we’re gone.
“He wakes us up to him playing with our toes in the morning. He sleeps on or next to my boyfriend and I every night.”
Pinda definitely enjoys the attention he receives from his bosses. He even likes to climb on top op Vincent’s shoulder whenever he feels like taking a nap. Luckily, Pinda doesn’t weigh much, so Vincent doesn’t mind at all.
One day, Laura and Vincent went through quite the shock when little Pinda was having seizures all of a sudden.
“On July 3rd we had a terrible scare. He suffered seizures and at one point was completely limp in my arms. Due to the efforts of my boyfriend and I (who gave him CPR) he recovered.”
Thanks to their incredible intervention, Pinda is a lively and happy cat once again. The couple also welcomed a new cat into the house, funnily enough with very similar fur. This last picture was taken one year after Pinda was rescued – what a difference love makes!
