Every pet owner has a story of how they met their pets. Some stories could be a massive tearjerker, some are wholesome and adorable, and some stories are incredibly surprising. In today’s story, we get to hear how Taylor and Stevie met.
This encounter was something that Taylor never expected.
Taylor was on her way to Bali for a solo vacation with her scooter. One day, Taylor spotted a tiny stray puppy on the side of the road. Stevie ran up to Taylor, tail wagging, and Taylor decided to take her with her on the scooter trip.
The pup just chilled on Taylor’s bag while she was driving. Taylor brought the dog along to a café and they ate some food together. Taylor had found herself an adorable road trip buddy, and she named her Stevie.
Instead of Taylor continuing with her vacation, she nursed Stevie after she found out that the puppy was sick.

It was in the middle of the night when Taylor first witnessed Stevie going through a painful episode.
“I let her out and she just fell over on her side,” Taylor told The Dodo.
As Taylor was attached to Stevie, she realized that she wanted to bring her back home in America.
“It made me realize that I loved her, and I don’t want to give up on her,” she said.
Her week vacation became a three-month-long mission to help her new friend get back up on her feet.

Taylor stayed in Bali for three months, but it was not for her vacation anymore. She found herself taking care of Stevie, and she was determined to help her find a way to be cured. Taylor visited veterinary clinics to find answers regarding Stevie’s condition.
The dog eventually recovered, and Taylor was now ready to welcome her to her home.

Since it is illegal to fly dogs in or out of Bali, Taylor searched for another way to get her transferred to America. She handed the dog to a local transportation company, and they said they would take the pup from Bali to Jakarta. Taylor felt assured that Stevie would be safe in hands with the company since they were kind enough to FaceTime with her as well as give her regular updates regarding the dog’s trip.
Finally, they blissfully reunited.

Taylor fetched Stevie in Jakarta and their reunion was heartwarming. As soon as Stevie recognized Taylor, the dog immediately pounced and licked her face. Finally, their long journey ended with both of them happy. The small, sick pup from Bali before was now an adorable, healthy pooch.
Taylor met Stevie on the 15th anniversary of her dad’s death. Taylor strongly believed that Stevie is a gift from her deceased father.

Sometimes, we just never expect some things to come across our paths. One day, Taylor found herself going on a vacation to Bali. In the next few days, she was taking care of a small pup. Now, she is best friends with that same pup that she tended to, and they are inseparable and living happily at home in America.
