Raccoons raid buck's food supply and he shows them who's boss
The buck was NOT having it!

White-tailed deers and raccoons are very different creatures. Deers are hoofed mammals who are often recognized by their branched bony antlers. Meanwhile, raccoons are fuzzy and round creatures that have been known that are commonly seen rummaging through trash to find food and bring it back to their lair.

Both animals live in the woods but when these raccoons try to eat all of the food, Coondog stepped in.

“Old Coondog was a buck just old enough and big enough that he considered himself boos of these parts,” Mike Blair said on a video that he uploaded online. “So when I put out waste corn at a trail camera site he naturally laid claim to the food.”

Coondog is a huge, brown, white-tailed deer with fully-grown antlers. This Alpha male always has the first dibs when suppliers ran low, but it seems that these “pesky” raccoons are not recognizing his authority.

Raccoons are highly adaptable, so they live in a wide range of climates and habitats. Unlike deers, they’re happy to live in human areas and other man-made locations.

They are not social animals, so when tons of raccoons try to eat all up the waste corn, Coondog showed them who’s boss.

The other deers try to get along with these hungry raccoons but not Coondog. He always had an attitude towards them because he doesn’t like it when someone challenges his authority.

“He would even strut around when no one was there, and you could see it was best not to mess with him.”

Coondog would also mark the corn pile as his own territory. He would slightly dig up a bare spot and urinate across it to leave his scent. However, these raccoons are totally ignoring him!

All 26 of them still piled up and rummage through Coondog’s spot to eat all up the corn.

Sometimes, he does allow them and even join the party – but they need to make room for Coondog. He would gently sway his antlers toward the raccoons to try and shoo them away. Coondog would just step forward his smaller rivals as a reminder that he’s 15 times their size.

But his aggression towards the raccoons grew as he approached their mating season.

“He’d threaten a powerful kick that could land like a hammer blow and the raccoons would smartly moved away.”

His fighting urge grew even stronger and used his antlers to teach these raccoons a lesson. It may look simple, but Coondog’s sharp antlers can easily open deep wounds and are even capable of killing a rival buck during a serious fight.

This amazing video uploaded by MikeBlairOutdoors has since become viral with over 2 million since its upload. Some of the viewers were amazed by how these animals behave.
