This is the kind of footage you can only get with a drone so as not to interfere with their behavior.

The sea is full of wondrous creatures, with many yet to be discovered. And we just love watching sea creatures in their element.

Thanks to some crafty drone footage, we got a front-row seat to watch a pod of dolphins during a special playdate with three grey whales that stole hearts across the internet.

This will take your breath away!

You don’t always imagine dolphins and whales playing together, but this video proves that they do…

The ocean is a vast hunting ground for all forms of sea life, and thanks to videos like this, we know that it’s also a massive playground for those same animals.

Capt. Dave’s Dana Point Dolphin and Whale Watching Safari posted the video back in 2019, that turned out to be an early gift for animal lovers on what happened to be Christmas Eve. The video was shot on the coast of Southern California, as the grey whales migrated down the coastline.

The giant grey whales flip in the water, as the dolphins and sea lions playfully swim around them.

Right from the start, it’s obvious that the mammals are all happily playing together as they dive underwater and swim in sync with each other.

It’s normal to see these sea creatures play with their own species, but to see all three of these species playing together is simply awesome.

The camera continues to hover above them, zooming in to catch a closer glimpse of what’s going on under the water. You can see the dolphins swim right underneath the grey whales, before popping up to the surface to get some air and getting right back to the fun.

It’s almost like the dolphins and grey whales are playing a game of tag

Whatever games whales and dolphins play, it’s obvious that these sea-friends are playing them. It kind of resembles a game of tag, with the dolphins tagging the whales before quickly swimming away.

Even the sea birds get in not the action, probably waiting for the dolphins and whales to feed so they can get a bite to eat off of their leftovers.

Every second of the 2-minute and 20-second long video will take your breath away

The video doesn’t last very long, but it doesn’t have too to touch people’s hearts. Even a picture of this scenario would garner the same response, so a video like this just takes it to another level.

The dolphins and grey whales swim together for what seems like miles, and they’re still fast a play when the video ends. Lucky for us, Capt. Dave’s Dana Point Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari YouTube channel is full of extraordinary videos like this.

Running a dolphin and whale watching safari has many perks, and one of them is capturing incredible video like this

Just two months ago, Captain Dave posted a video very similar to this encounter. It’s no surprise, as Captain Dave’s YouTube channel has a ton of mesmerizing videos of sea life. If you’d rather see them in person, he can accommodate that too.

“Our fleet is full of options for the type of ride you’d like to experience, how fast you want to go, how close you want to be to the sea life, and even how wet you dare to get! We can accommodate small groups or large parties of up to 49 people! No matter what cruise you decide to take, know that all year long is the right time to take a dolphin and whale watching cruise with Captain Dave!” Reads Captain Dave’s website.

Next time I make my way to Southern California, I’ll be sure to put Capt. Dave’s Dana Point Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari on my list of things to do.
