Many people love the sea, and perhaps that’s because of its serene and refreshing environment that you just cannot experience on land. In addition to that, you could also meet some curious marine creatures, and if you are lucky, you could become friends with them! This woman just had the most unexpected and unusual friendship while wakeboarding.

The sun is out and the waves are calm. It is a perfect setting to go wakeboarding.

Wyatt Millers, a professional windsurfer, went out with his friends from the Pro-Windsurf La Ventana for a fun, leisurely activity in the Sea of Cortez. As they noticed that the wind was not too strong, or the waves rocky, they decided to enjoy their day through wakeboarding.

Millers manned the speedboat while a woman who was part of their crew trailed behind them on the wakeboard.

They never expected a horde of dolphins following them on their trip.

While riding the waves, they could see dolphins from the distance, hopping in and out of the water. It was truly a wonderful sight to behold. A few seconds later, they were just caught off guard when a bunch of dolphins swam in front of the wakeboarding woman. They saw one, then two, and in about a second, more dolphins appeared and surrounded the woman.

The dolphins do not seem to be aggressive nor scared of humans.

As the wakeboarder caught the attention of a bunch of dolphins, those creatures do not seem to be harmful. Instead, they just wanted to hang out with the female wakeboarder and the rest of the crew. It was amazing how the dolphins just casually followed their lead and swam with them.

It was as if they bonded during that short while. Everything looked marvelous and quite unbelievable because aside from seeing these dolphins in aquatic zoos, how often do you see dolphins that close to a human?

Fortunately, they were able to share this beautiful moment with us on the internet.

Miller had the whole thing recorded and decided to upload it on his YouTube channel. The 2-minute clip was posted in 2013, and currently, the view count is at 22 million and counting. Miller wrote on the video description, “This was one of the TOP 3 afternoons of my LIFE” and we could see why that is.

Dolphins are one of the smartest mammals next to humans.

It is a fact that these marine creatures are intelligent and it is not only because of the size of their brain.

You could see tons of similarities between humans and dolphins, such as they have their complex way of communicating with others, and they could also understand empathy and feel emotions such as sadness or joy. These creatures form communities, each with their tasks, to have each other’s backs and survive in the wild.

They mostly see us as their allies as they show great curiosity and interest towards us.
