Lions and wolves are obviously two of the most dangerous wild animals, but coyotes can be aggressive as well.
While the latter rarely attack adults, they are significantly dangerous to pets and children, so their owners and parents respectively need to take care of them and prevent an attack.
Pets, especially the small ones, should not be allowed to run around the neighborhood alone, while young children should also be supervised while playing outside the house.
According to the Urban Coyote Research Project, coyotes should not be fed, while humans should not run away from them, instead yell or throw something at them.
Regarding when this wild animal walks around and looks for food, it’s mostly during the night.
You see, coyotes are nocturnal animals, so they most of the time appear at night, and this is when humans should be more cautious.
However, they can sometimes be spotted during the day, and this is when humans should avoid them as possible because these animals are possibly not scared of people and, therefore, can attack them.
A coyote like this has been noticed in Los Angeles.
People living in a certain neighborhood reported a few months ago that they had seen a coyote “regularly wandering around […] for months”.
Unfortunately, a coyote, possibly the same, attacked a 2-year-old girl last December.
The attack could have ended tragically, but, thankfully, the toddler’s dad was brave and quickly reacted, so he rescued his girl only moments after the attack began.
More specifically, on December 2, Ariel Eliyahuo living with his family in Woodland Hills, California, collected his daughter from daycare and they both returned home.
While Ariel was picking up something from inside the car, his little girl, Ariya, was taking a few steps into their yard, but then something scary happened.
A coyote came over and grabbed the tiny girl by her legs.
In fact, the wild animal bit the toddler and tried to take her away, but, thankfully, the father heard the girl’s screams and rushed over.
“I heard Ariya scream. I thought she fell down,” Eliyahuo recalled to CNN. “I ran immediately to see what was going on and I saw the coyote attack her. I picked her up in my arms and tried to make the coyote go away.”
The man even threw a water bottle at the wild animal to make sure it would not get closer to them to attack again.
Moments later, the father took his daughter inside the house and gave her to his wife, and he immediately got out again to ensure the coyote was not around their yard anymore.
The parents soon took their little daughter to an Emergency Room, where the medical staff took care of Ariya’s scratches, and also gave her rabies shots.
In the following period, the local authorities tried to find the aggressive coyote, intending its euthanasia, but they didn’t find it at least over the next few days.
This dad was a real hero!
