Some parts of the world have an abundance of abandoned animals. Unfortunately, Northern China is one of those places. Residential areas of China are hot spots for puppies to be abandoned or left for dead.
Northeast Animal Rescue is an incredible organization that regularly sweeps certain areas for these abandoned animals.
With their regular sweeps, they find some heartbreaking scenes. Often, the people who walk by the scenes every day are indifferent, forcing Northeast Animal Rescue to work independently.
In some residential areas of China, abandoned puppies occur frequently. People living there are indifferent to this ugly act. When they saw the abandoned puppies, they not only did not rescue, but even did not call for help. Therefore, a part of the daily work of Northeast Animal Rescue is to take the initiative to patrol the high-risk areas of abandoned puppies, find them in time, and rescue them in time.
During a recent sweep, a worker heard a noise coming from a garbage dump and went to investigate it.
Climbing around cracked walls and treading on crumbling stairs, she finally located an animal in need of rescue. The woman heard squeaks coming from a dump, and when she arrived, the scene was heartbreaking.
A little puppy was whining and looking through the trash for potential food.
The puppy was shaking, starving, and longing for a gentle touch. It was truly heartbreaking to see such a cute puppy in such a disgusting place. Fiona, the woman who found him, decided to name him Panda.
Getting him off the streets, they fed Panda some milk that he desperately drank up.
It was easy to see just how hungry little Panda was. He lapped up the milk like it was going to be his last meal on earth. After the food, Fiona took him to get a bath and clean him up. He let out the cutest little whines and they realized that this was his first-ever bath!
Gradually, little Panda calmed down and got used to the relaxing bath and pets.
That is the sort of thing a dog can get used to! Soon, he was in heaven. After his bath and a nap, it was time to go play outside! Looking like a completely new puppy, Panda romped around in the grass with his best friend.
Fiona very well could have saved Panda’s life that day.
Seeing him playing in the grass is like watching him get a second life. With a face that almost looked like a smile, it’s hard to imagine someone leaving him without a care in the world. Thankfully Fiona walked by that day and took him in.
There are thousands of dogs like Panda who still need saving!
People like Fiona are doing incredible work to help save helpless animals who won’t make it without them. You can see the difference that one person caring makes on a puppy.
Regardless of the social environment, we insist on using our limited ability to minimize the damage suffered by the puppies.
