A viral video chronicling an adorable kitten’s first seven days with her new family has the internet swooning.

A family in South Korea welcomed the kitten into their home but weren’t sure how she would react to their puppy. If they were wondering how their puppy would react…it didn’t take long to find out. The puppy, Sowoon, was immediately intrigued by this tiny furball. He, being a furball himself, was more than happy to make her acquaintance. But would she feel the same?

The introduction could go one of two ways and the family was hoping for a positive response.

At first, the kitten, Soseol, was not having it. She hissed at Sowoon and made him jump. Most dogs would have given up but Sowoon was just getting started. I mean, how could he give up the opportunity to have a tiny playmate?

The next day, the kitten was still not feeling the love for Sowoon.

Even though Soseol’s big eyes were filled with fear and distrust, Sowoonl made more than one attempt to make her feel at home. The family adopted Soseol at 2 months old. She is a munchkin short leg kitten and Sowoon is a 7-month-old pomeranian.

‘Like many unusual cat types, the Munchkin breed arose from a spontaneous genetic mutation. The Munchkin’s short legs are caused by an autosomal dominant gene, which causes the long bones in a cat’s legs to grow shorter. A cat only needs one copy of the gene to inherit short legs and to pass the trait along to its kittens.’ – mentalfloss.com

By day three, things were going a little better.

When the kitten saw Sowoon heading her way, she wasn’t as fearful. Things were looking up for these soon-to-be friends.

As the days went by, the Soseol was realizing that maybe this wasn’t so bad after all.

The two babies would find each other under beds, in each other’s food bowls, and lounging in the hallway. There was no denying that they were besties and life was better with friends.

It’s playtime!

With a new sense of trust in the air, the kitten would seek out the puppy for playtime. It had only been days since they met but now they were looking like life-long pals.

There were even more siblings to meet.

The family’s two other dogs, Soba and Somyeon, or as they called them, ‘big bro & big sis, towered over the tiny kitten. But for now, playtime was reserved for the two tiniest pets. The Shiba-inus patiently waited outside for their chance to play.
