Not all road trips end with a new family member.
For one couple, that’s exactly what happened. While on the open road, they were stunned when they realized they were being chased by something that appeared to be tiny, fluffy, and adorable. After taking a closer look, their assumptions were correct, it was a little doggie. The little fellow was all alone and running like the wind in their direction. They quickly got out their camera and took a video of the little pooch trying its best to catch up with their car.
You can do it!
With all its might and muscle, the dog is seen running at full speed alongside the car. Soon, it catches up and the couple decides to pull over. This dog’s efforts are about to be rewarded.
The couple wants to find the dog’s owner.
Thinking that the dog might belong to someone in the immediate area, the couple makes their way to the nearest villages to locate the owners. After visiting several towns nearby, they were unsuccessful in finding anyone who knew the dog.
They had a choice to make.
The couple had never had a dog before. They were a cat family with three, lovable, rescued cats at home already. This was a big decision to make but they went with their hearts and made the right one. The little dog was finally on her way home.
“We didn’t really know what to do.” – The woman told The Dodo.
The couple had never had a dog before so this was unfamiliar territory. Her fur was completely grown out and the dog needed to get checked out at the vet. They were also worried about what she would think of their cats…and what they would think of this new addition.
This little dog loves cats.
Upon meeting her new siblings, the dog fell completely in love with them. The feeling wasn’t mutual. The cats were a little unsure of this new creature. This didn’t bother the pup as she loved them regardless. “We were a little worried because we have the cats but she was immediately in love with them.” – The Dodo
The couple rescued their animals while traveling.
“We’ve picked them all up during our travels in our van.” – The woman told The Dodo. Her cats were found in Italy and Greece. The couple wanted the pets to get used to each other so they took the dog on walks with the cats.
Persistence pays off.
After spending countless hours together, the cats start to warm up to the dog. They become pals and spend their days playing outside. What lucky pets to be rescued by this wonderful couple.

Well, it seems appropriate that this little dog would have some confusion about her place in the family. After spending all her time with three cats, she started to think she was a cat. The owners told The Dodo that she loves to play in the litter box and eat cat food. Whatever makes you happy right?
She loves adventure just like her new parents.
The couple feels so happy to have found their new pet and we’re pretty sure the feeling is mutual. “She actually fits perfectly in our lifestyle because she just loves adventure.” – The woman told The Dodo
