Pets reflect the soul of their owner, which is why even homeless people have a special bond with them.
Despite their limited resources, homeless individuals still want their pets to thrive and reciprocate the love they get from them.
Thanks to one “Street Vet,” homeless people in Los Angeles can now give their pets the necessary veterinary care.
Dr. Kane Stewart and his crew are out in the streets to help out pet owners who do not have the means for their beloved babies.
They believe that even homeless people deserve to feel loved by their pets, which is why they do what they can to help them.
Dr. Stewart knew how badly pets needed his service and the economic hindrance most owners have to deal with.
Kwane worked as a shelter veterinarian for some time, and he noticed that most pets were left due to lack of funds to sustain their needs.
As a professional vet for 22 years, Kwane Stewart has helped a lot of animals.
He believed the underprivileged pets had helped their homeless owners deal with unfortunate life events.
This is why he wanted to give back to those animals who had been great companions for the homeless.
These pets have offered more than companionship; some of them gave their masters reasons to live and to keep on fighting for life.
Kwane provides free consultation and medical treatment through the Project Street Vet.
The passionate veterinarian extends their service to the pets of street dwellers who cannot afford to pay for their remedy.
Their team acknowledges the right of each animal to proper health care regardless of the financial status of their owner.
Project Street Vet was founded in 2020 and aims to provide veterinary care, medicine, and financial support to homeless individuals.
Dr. Kwane and his team focus on doing “Street Vet Work” in Los Angeles and San Diego, where there is a high population of people who live on the streets.
Aside from doing Street Vet Work, they also team up with various organizations and clinics to provide for the needs of the pets that they meet.
Last year, they were able to extend their help to almost 600 animals.
In addition to veterinary care, they also grant financial assistance to qualified pet parents.
Their report about last year’s activity reflected the total number of animals that they were able to help and the number of people that benefited from the financial assistance.
The group is very thankful to all who extend their help to achieve their mission.
They are still open to partnerships and are looking for volunteers who want to join their cause.
You may reach out to them if you want to donate pet supplies through their website.
Indeed, any form of help, whether it be goods or services, means a lot to those who have nothing.
