The absolute horrors that many dogs experience out on the streets is something that will break your heart. This video is a great example of how even the worst circumstances can’t put a damper on the sweet and innocent hearts that dogs have.
One woman met the sweetest dog out on the streets.
While walking around a market, Charlotte, a local animal rescue advocate, noticed a pup walking around the street. When she got closer, she was shocked. The little dog looked to be in miserable condition, and it broke her heart.
The mange-ridden dog was obviously in pain, but incredibly was still interested in showing love to humans!
Obviously, the dog had experienced love from a human before, simply from the way she was responding. Charlotte and her partner got home as fast as possible to try and get help because they knew they weren’t in a spot to try and help the dog right then.
Grabbing the rescue supplies she needed, she went back to the market.
Sadly, the dog was gone when she arrived. After days of looking, she was able to find a man who worked the market that said he was able to help. He claimed to know where she was sleeping! After dropping off the cage, she got a call that night and was told that the man had caught the dog!
Naming her Delilah, they brought the poor dog back to the shelter.
The man who found her was incredibly happy to see her rescued! On her way back, she was terrified and didn’t know what was going to happen. Little did she know that she was on the road to recovery!
Delilah started on some medication that would help her get her hair back.
Slowly but surely, the medicine and love that Delilah was getting started to make a difference. The once shaking and mange-covered dog was transforming into a confident and beautiful little pup! After a few weeks of recovery, she was finally ready to go into the foster system.
When Delilah met Amelia for the first time, it was love at first sight.
Just like when Charlotte found Delilah, the sweet pup couldn’t help but wag her tail and show off how awesome her personality really was! When she hopped out of the car and met Amelia, Delilah couldn’t help but shake her little butt all over the place with how happy she was. Amelia knew that she needed to keep the little pup in her life forever.
Now, the two spend all their time together!
Whether it’s out on the beach or at home, Delilah ALWAYS has z0oomies and loves to love. She is a great snuggle buddy and a TERRIBLE guard dog. For Delilah, nobody is a stranger and is her best friend. The two are a perfect fit, and couldn’t be happier.
From the streets to a loving home, this is one story that has an awesome ending.
