What would you do if a dirty stray puppy from the streets keeps following you around?
This couple from Bulgaria was placed in this exact scenario when a brown puppy excitedly approached them. At first, they just thought that the little fella was greeting strangers until they noticed that he’s following them around.
The puppy was pretty sprightly, quite excited that he’s about to make friends.
With his tail wagging enthusiastically, the couple knew that this puppy meant no harm. Even if he was taking some playful nibbles on their sleeves, they knew that this puppy was looking for something else entirely – a good heart that will give him a chance at life.
At first, the couple tried to send him away, but he kept on looking at them with sadness and hope.
At that moment, they knew they had to decide.
Dessy and Stoya, the couple in the video and the content creators behind PawMeow, encountered the puppy.
They explained that they are not an organization nor an animal shelter. They are just an ordinary couple taking in stray animals and giving them a home. They have rescued four different cats, all of them from the streets. The two stayed with them while the other two are staying with Dessy’s mother. They said that their ultimate dream is to be able to build a shelter that will enable them to help as many stray cats as they can. But that doesn’t mean that dogs are exempted from their love.
The puppy began to follow them as they trekked back home even if they left him a sausage to eat. Thinking that the dog would break off and return home, the couple continued on their journey until they noticed that the puppy was now far from where he started.
He was still as excited as before and he seemed to have developed a liking to the good-hearted couple.
Dessy and Stoya conceded. Once they got home, they left the gate open so the puppy can come in.
The little dog was hesitant. He was extending his body towards the door just so he could get near them, but his feet were planted firmly on the ground. Maybe the concept of home was foreign to him, and maybe he never knew how it feels to live in one.
Eventually, with a lot of coaxing, the puppy entered their home.
He patiently waited by the foyer as Dessy prepared a meal for him. He would look around from time to time, trying to figure out where he is or why he was allowed to be here in the first place.
He was very shy and well-behaved, but every time Stoya approaches him, his tail would wag in happiness.
He finally warms up to the house when he was given a full meal to eat.
Stoya noticed that the little guy needs a bath. If he is to stay here, he should shed off the dirt and the mud off him.
But bath times are also new to him, and so, when he approached the tub of water, he did something that the couple didn’t expect.
The puppy began to drink the soapy water!
The couple figured he might be really thirsty, being out in the streets with no proper source of sustenance.
Eventually, they succeeded in giving him a bath. They set him down near the heater where the puppy began to settle down.
He might have slept out in the cold, but inside Dessy and Stoya’s home, he felt warm and protected.
He finally has a place that he can call home.
