Gunnar the puppy didn’t have a lot. The doggo lived in a dirt heap surrounded by trash.

But when Gunnar did have something, he would share it.

Because that’s what dogs do. Dogs spread and share love.

So, when some folks came along and decided that they wanted to rescue Gunnar they tried to lure him with some bread.

Gunnar wanted to break bread with his new friends and share some of his slice with them.

“Still wagging his tail. Still happy to see us. Still wanted to share his piece of bread,” one of Gunnar’s rescuers said.

Gunnar’s rescuers said he had spent a week in the area being cold and dirty before they took him in.

“His absolutely positive attitude kept him going.”

Gunnar was brought to the vet to get cleaned up and was deemed healthy enough to go into foster care.

He spent about a week in foster care before his mom Freya gave him a forever home.

Being in his forever home was likely the first time Gunnar had ever seen a lawn before.

“He was super curious all the time and wanted to discover everything,” Freya told The Dodo.

According to The Barking Lot, you can typically expect dogs to be shy and hide or even bark when you rescue a dog that is adjusting to a new home.

But that wasn’t the case with sweet Gunnar.

Three years later and you’ll find that Gunnar is the same sweet dog but with a whole lot more energy and enthusiasm.

He loves to run up and down the beach. He still loves to share, except now he shares rocks.

But not just any rocks.

Gunnar carefully selects his rocks making sure to find the perfect one before he presents them to you.

It’s a true testament to Gunnar’s loving nature and desire to make people happy by bringing them the perfect love inside of him.

“He’s definitely our little rockstar,” said Freya.

But even a rockstar needs friends. So, Freya started fostering at the beginning of the pandemic in order to give Gunnar some play buddies.

“This little cutie and his piece of bread just melts my heart. The fact that he was so happily smiling and wanting to share his piece of bread makes me so happy and he’s so cute although I felt so bad when he was in that condition,” one YouTube commenter said.
