Rodrigo Coelho was just making a run to the pharmacy when a surprise greeted him upon returning to his car. Right there hanging out in his front seat was a dog. Not Coelho’s dog, just a stray dog.
Surprised at his guest, he still wanted to the right thing. He wasn’t going to kick this dog out of his car if he clearly needed to rest and felt safe. Coelho had several dogs of his own and thought there wouldn’t be any harm in bringing him back to his home for a while.
Once they got back to his place, the stray pup passed out on his couch. He made himself right at home and couldn’t be bothered by anything, whether it was Coelho patting him or another dog sniffing his toes.
Once woken up though, he was ready to play. He made his way around Coelho’s home and tried to make friends with the small dog that lived there. Coelho’s dog wasn’t having any of it though. With fur standing up on his back (the sure sign of an angry dog), barking, and the occasional baring of teeth, it was clear this little guy as defending his territory, especially when the stray neared the bedroom.
The two dogs went around each other before they finally settled down and Coelho worked out a plan. He set out looking for the stray’s owners by posting the hilarious scenario on Facebook. Since he has such a large following (over one million on Facebook alone) the video of the dog in the car went viral in no time.
On Youtube the first video of the pup earned nearly 350 thousand views on one video alone. When there was a second posted, it gained well over 100 thousand views. Every user was showing their support by sharing and commenting on how badly they hoped they found the owners.
Since the post had spread so quickly, everyone’s wishes came true. The owners of the dog, Dayane and Maicon, contacted Coelho and said that the dogs name was Thor and they were so relieved that he had been found and was in good hands.
Luckily, Dayane and MAicon only lived about 5 miles from away and Thor had run away that afternoon he ended up in Coelho’s car. Since they lived so close Coelho set up a reunion to return Thor to his owners. The two were beyond thankful to Coelho for keeping Thor safe and returning him back home.
It was pretty clear that Thor was happy to be found. “He recognized the couple, the car, and even his canine friend who came along. “It made me sure that the right thing was done and everything turned out well.”
