Strays live with nothing but scraps from the streets to keep surviving. In addition to that, people often mistreat these poor animals with only a few showing them a little kindness. Despite that, those little acts of kindness are enough to make a difference in their lives.
This dog had been living alone for a while until he got rescued on the street.

A 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier mix was found wandering on the streets, trying to survive. Luckily, a local rescue center was able to rescue the dog, and they temporarily gave him a proper place to eat and sleep. The rescuers could give him enough food and water to survive but it would be way better if this pooch went into the arms of a loving owner. However, this dog never anticipated how his life would turn around one day.
A kind woman locked eyes with the pooch and that was when their heart-melting story began.

One day, a woman named Susanne was browsing her local rescue center’s website in search of a lovely pooch that she could bring home.
It was then that she came across a photo of the Jack Russell terrier dog that just broke her heart. The dog was in poor condition and it became clear to her that the dog had a terrible past. Susanne already had one rescue dog at home, but when she saw another pup in need, she did not hesitate to grab the opportunity to save another life.

After locking in her choice, she immediately went to the rescue center because of her excitement of getting a new dog.
“I queued for three hours outside the center to ensure I was the first to register my interest, and we bonded the moment we clapped eyes on each other,” she told The Dodo.
When she entered the room, she finally met the pooch in person and showed how much she fell in love with it in an instant.
Susanne welcomed the new dog home and named him Neville.

At first, it was hard for Neville to adjust to the environment, especially since he brought his habits from when he was a stray.
“At first, he used to compete for food and tried to feed directly from the floor or my other dog’s bowl,” she shared.
That slowly changed when Susanne worked hard to train Neville and straighten his behavior so he could properly live with her other dogs at home.

The food bowl that Susanne gave to Neville brought a huge change in the dog’s life. Aside from Neville finally able to enjoy his food, he became so happy that he sleeps with the bowl every night. Seeing that he could not seem to separate himself from that simple bowl was heartbreaking yet so pure at the same time.
“He just seems so heartbreakingly grateful for a simple bowl. I think it represents comfort and home for him,” Susanne said.
The dog that once had nothing now has everything he could ask for.

Neville will never eat nor sleep on the cold concrete floors again as he finally found a place that he could call home. Furthermore, he has now a loving owner who would give anything just to keep him happy.
