Once upon a time, a group of friends from Vicksburg, Michigan, embarked on a bachelor party adventure that would turn out to be anything but ordinary.

Mitchell Craddock and his seven buddies were all set for a wild weekend in a Tennessee cabin, where the only rule was ‘no girls allowed’.

Little did they know, their party was about to get crashed in the most heartwarming way.

As the guys cooked bacon on their first morning, a surprise visitor appeared at their door.

A stray mama dog, lured by the irresistible aroma, showed up, looking for a bite to eat.

Trevor Jennings, one of the party-goers, recalled, “It all started while we were cooking bacon our first morning on the trip with the door to the cabin open.”

The dog was in rough shape, her ribs visible and her hunger evident. The men couldn’t resist helping her out.

Feeding her turned into a full-blown rescue mission when they noticed her belly, a clear sign she was nursing puppies.

But where were her babies?

The men soon discovered the answer.

Following the mama dog into the woods, they stumbled upon a hidden den with seven tiny, newborn puppies!

The discovery was astonishing.

“It was obvious she had some pups at some point but she was not producing milk when she found us so we thought the puppies were bigger,” Jennings explained.

But there they were, seven little lives in need of care.

Without a second thought, the men brought the puppies back to the cabin.

The woods were no place for such young animals.

They washed and cared for them, and then came the big decision.

With eight men and eight dogs, it seemed like fate.

Each man decided to adopt one of the puppies!

Jennings shared, “We all live within about a 5-mile radius of each other and hang out most weekends. We typically bring the dogs along with us so they still see each other.”

The puppies, now named Knox, Gunner, Annie, Brimmie, Finn, Rosie, Daisy, and Bear, were not only given homes but also kept their family connections.

The mama dog, named Annie, found a loving home with Craddock’s grandparents, along with one of her puppies, Bear.
