For dogs, puppyhood is the stage where they are in their cutest and most irresistible form. Of course, they are still adorable when these balls of fluff grow bigger and taller. But there is just something about those small puppy eyes, huge heads, and button noses that surely melt hearts every single time.
Poor Alma is skin and bones because of malnutrition.
However, in Alma’s case, her early days in this world are not as happy as one would expect them to be. She spent her puppyhood in a battle for survival. Instead of playing around, being goofy, and enjoying her youth, she is busy fighting over the other bigger and stronger dogs for the scraps of food thrown at them.
And because of the obvious difference in strength and size, she can barely eat and ends up being bullied by other dogs.
This kind of tragic situation shouldn’t happen to her nor any dogs out there.
Alma is initially kept together with other fourteen stray dogs and raised in a dilapidated garage. Despite the good intentions of the owner to try and raise these animals instead of leaving them to die on the streets, they can barely provide enough food that is sufficient for all the dogs.
This sad situation left Alma in a serious case of malnutrition as her bones stick out and her mane is almost bald.
Howl Of A Dog heard Alma’s woes.
Howl Of A Dog is a small nonprofit animal rescue organization located in Romania. The group’s mission is to rescue abandoned, neglected, injured, and abused animals from the streets and overcrowded shelters. They offer them the medical care they need and find them loving a family and a place they can finally call their home.

Aside from offering free neuter and spay program, they also raise awareness through their rescue stories that they upload on their official YouTube account. They want to build a more compassionate and responsible society where animals and humans can live harmoniously.
The once skinny and scared pup is now a happy and lovable girl who loves her toys.
After being rescued by Howl Of A Dog, Oana and Mihai take care of Alma. And they did a marvelous job in nursing her back to health. They are very patient in dealing with her, taking small steps in their journey to befriend the scared pup.
They are sincere in gaining Alma’s trust since they know how much trauma she had. At first, Alma is so scared that she won’t even leave the travel crate as she is still adjusting to the new surroundings.
Fear and sadness are evident in her face as her eyes are downcast. She had a rough start in life, but what she isn’t aware of is that she is finally saved.
Oana and Mihai finally win Alma’s love and trust after almost three weeks of bonding with the pup. They make sure that they shower Alma with utmost care and affection every day to erase those sad memories she once had.
Alma finally finds a family and home in the form of her saviors.
Oana and Mihai become so close with Alma that what is supposed to be a foster family turned out to be her forever home. And I can’t blame them. I mean who can resist those charming eyes and bubbly character Alma has? Well, I’m pretty sure her new family can’t. And now Alma is happy to be with them.
