Champ and his family started across the river. But unfortunately, about halfway across, a young filly got swept up in the current. She started panicking. She was drowning, and she could do nothing to save herself.

Champ immediately jumped into action. He tried to grab the little horse by the side of her neck, but he was unable to get a good grip on her.

Champ gently held onto the foal’s neck with his teeth, and he carefully led her back to the riverbank. He didn’t let go of her until he was sure she was safe.

The scared foal ran to her mother, who nuzzled her, relieved she was okay.
