The wild stallion Champ definitely has a personality that lives up to his name. One day, he and his family were simply grazing along the banks of Arizona’s Salt River in the Tonto National park. At the other side of the river, another set of wild horses appeared to the scene.

After a short while, Champ decides to say to hello to the other horses across the water, so he takes a few family members to go to the other bank.

Tragically, the water current proved to be too strong for one of the smaller horses. A young baby horse struggled to get through the water and fell downstream, even going under for a while in the process.

Immediately and without hesitation, the beautiful white stallion tries to grab the little baby horse by its neck but has a very loose grip. Tragically, the baby horse drifts away from the rest of the family even further.

Like a true champion, Champ stopped at nothing to save the little horse. He breaks out from the rest of the group risking his own life to go after her. This time, he managed to get a good grip on her neck and also manages to escort her back to land and to safety.

Champ wouldn’t let go of her until he was a hundred percent sure that she ‘d be safe.

Understandably, the little horse was very shaken up by the whole incident. She headed to her mother for support and luckily wasn’t injured at all.

A bit later, Champ crosses the water to meet the other stallions across the river as if nothing happened. What an amazing feat that truly shows the remarkable bond between wild horses.
