Nothing goes together quite like curious critters and Go Pro cameras. Ever since the invention of the Go Pro animals have been swiping them, stealing them, and photo bombing them everywhere they’re kept, sometimes even right out of the owners hands.

And thats pretty much what this squirrel decided to do one afternoon to a man just trying to get some video of the local wildlife in his community.

The little guy is clearly curious, but still very nervous about his find. He doesn’t know what to do and scurries from side to side investigating the new toy. His scurries are perfectly in the frame of the lens and we see ever facial expression, tail flick, and more.

After a minute, he gets a little more daring and moves closer to the camera, making for a couple of great close up shots, practically up the squirrel’s nose. After a couple sniffs he disappears from site, but the video is far from being over.

We may not be able to see the squirrel, but what the camera tells us is that he’s run off with this mans camera. The next frame is a shaken view of the world moving sideways up the tree, so we know that he has stolen the camera. If only there was a second GoPro recording what the squirrel looks like running up a tree with a camera half his size!

Once he settles into a nook on a tree branch we see the best shot of the whole video. The man below who placed the Go Pro is looking up at the animal wondering if he’ll ever get his camera back.

Theres a little more adjusting, and a little squirrel hand is the last thing that we see before the video changes yet again. This time we get a view of what it looks like from the cameras perspective of the camera falling to the ground. Then the man picks up his camera, dusts it off, and continues with his day like fighting a squirrel for his GoPro is part of his daily routine.

Though its such a simple video, it has gained over 5 million views with quite a few funny comments. “Hey the squirrel should be named as the cameraman in the credits.” said one user and several suggested he was just trying to vlog. Be on the lookout for his next video, how to climb a tree coming to his personal channel soon.
