There are over 200 hundred species of Squirrel all over the planet and this one managed to find itself trapped in an inflatable pool. No one knows how or why, nor does the uploader provide any information as to how the rodent got in to the pool. But of course, being the good samaritans that they are, they decided to help the creature out of the water.
Well they tried, to be more precise. You can see the mammal having a lazy swim around which makes one wonder if it actually decided to go for a swim since it must have been a hot day. I mean look at it!
See, squirrels are nimble. They are so agile and quick so for this guy to be swimming around without a care in the world must mean he really chose to do so. Still, a woman approaches the pool intent on helping the furry guy.
The lady filming the scene can be heard warning the woman not to touch the rodent. The woman is adamant, however, saying she needs gloves so she can get it out of the pool. The lady tells her to get a board or something to help lift it out.
The woman grabs a chair and proceeds to try and fish the squirrel out.
She steps in to the pool, wading in the knee high water, just trying her best to get the squirrel to hop on the chair’s backrest.
The squirrel swims around the chair, almost like it’s trying to avoid it. He’s partly scared, agitated, and annoyed. The woman follows it around going,
“I’m saving you. I’m saving you. LET ME SAVE YOU!!”
Finally, the squirrel hops on to the chair.
“Thank you.”
Now this little rodent could have just jumped off, on to the grass and scurry away, but no. The moment the woman lifts him out of the water and over the pool, the squirrel hops up on to the chair’s apron using it as a sort of vaulting platform to launch itself on the woman’s chest.
What do you think happened next?
Yes. She lets out a scream, slapping herself until the squirrel jumps back in to the water. The woman’s agility and quickness must have impressed the rodent though. Look at her run up and out of the pool!
The lady filming the scene can’t help herself, chuckling at the comedy act unfolding in front of her. Probably not the way they expected quarantine to go, but better a squirrel than a virus.
She had every right to freak out. Squirrels can boast of 4 front teeth that never stop growing which they need for their constant gnawing. Imagine if that were her face. Those front teeth coupled with their blistering speed and agility make for one formidable creature. They may be small but as seen here, are able to elicit such responses from larger beings.
This squirrel must have been annoyed by the interference. All he wanted was a swim!
He must have seen the empty pool from afar, since everyone is staying indoors for self isolation. He should thank the lady for making a concerned effort. After all, it’s not everyday one sees a squirrel in a pool.
