A Rochester, NY squirrel is in some BIG trouble. This fuzzy little rodent has got quite the rap sheet that includes breaking and entering, theft, and assaulting a police officer.
If he wasn’t so darn cute, or a squirrel, he could be facing some serious time behind bars.
Thankfully, the Brockport Police Department has a good sense of humor. It all started when the police got a call on Dec. 30 from a homeowner who reported that a squirrel had somehow broken into their house.
Not only was the suspect not invited, but he decided that he would help himself to some cookies in the kitchen.
When police arrived, they must have started the squirrel because it jumped at the police officer’s face.
Apparently, the squirrel wasn’t about to do any hard time for cookie theft, got desperate, and tried to flee.
“On December 29th, 2017 Brockport Police were called to a residence for a squirrel that had broken into the house, reportedly eating cookies in the kitchen,” the police department wrote on Facebook.
“Officers Sime and Dawson arrived on scene but were not at all expecting the warm welcome they would receive from the squirrel. The squirrel was ultimately captured by officers and released without injury. The homeowner was very relieved that their uninvited guest was set free.Brockport Police will always go the extra mile to help their residents.”
The footage of this crazy outlaw squirrel’s outburst was caught on video which appears to have been shot on the officer’s body camera.
Apparently, this squirrel was trying to start his New Year’s party early.
“Can we turn the music down?” he asks.
“The squirrel turned it on!” the homeowner says.
The officer double checked to make sure he heard that right.
“The squirrel turned it on?” he asks.
Then out of nowhere the squirrel appears and leaps from the counter onto the blinds before it comes jumping toward and slams into the police officer making his camera shake.
The officers let out a great big laugh as this crazy strong squirrel kept leaping around the house.
This squirrel definitely ate his Wheaties for breakfast! That little dude was packing some power. No charges were filed against the squirrel and he was released back into the wild.
