We all deserve another chance in life.
All of us deserve to be treated fairly and to receive care when we are sick, just like what happened to a sick and weak glow betta.
Emma, a 20-year-old young woman who’s in college studying to be a veterinary tech, has been taking care of fish since she was 15 years old.
On March 04, 2022, she went to PetSmart and saw a very sick Glow Betta.
It was just floating on a small cup and was not responding. In cases like this, usually, the pet shop will allow you to take it home for free.
Emma took home the sick Glow Betta.
On her YouTube account, Emma the Cabbage, she posted a video detailing how she helped the fish get better.
According to the vet tech student, the first step was to analyze the problem.
The fish was in terrible condition. It wasn’t moving at all. It was floating, his fins were rotting, and he wasn’t responsive.
Emma diagnosed the ratty fins as ‘fin rot,’ which is often a result of a bacterial or fungal infection.
She also mentioned that the fish was stuck on top and couldn’t swim. The cause would be ‘swim bladder disease,’ where the bladder is not functioning properly.
Emma transferred Mr. Glow Betta into some clean water. She also added some antibiotics to help with the healing.
She also offered him food to see how his appetite was. Unfortunately, he didn’t eat. He remained lethargic.
The next day, Mr. Glow Betta started swimming again!
There was one moment where it seemed like Mr. Glow Betta looked at Emma and smiled.
Of course, this melted her heart and ours too!
After nine days, Mr. Glow Betta looked so good. His fins were getting better, and he showed Emma his darling personality.
After a few more days, and on his 27th day in his new home, the fish that was once been very sick and pale had blossomed into a bright-colored Betta.
At week 6, Mr. Glow Betta showed some red and blue colors. His tail has gotten longer and prettier too.
He loves to explore, has a healthy appetite, and would greet Emma whenever she’s in the room.
We could all agree that he’s a darling!
If you give love and care, it doesn’t matter if it’s a person, an animal, an insect, a fish, or a tree, they would thrive and be beautiful.
That’s how it works. If you’re in a neglected environment, it would affect every bit of you and your well-being.
Emma’s decision to take Mr. Glow Betta, and his other fish friend, gave way for him to recuperate and thrive in life.
This young lady did her best to give him the best life.
Sadly, two weeks ago, Emma posted a video update on her YouTube account.
Emma explained that a few weeks ago, a major and mysterious disease killed many of her fish.
Mr. Glow Betta also passed away.
She tried to medicate them and even asked for help from a trusted fish specialist, but they saw nothing wrong.
Until the day of posting the video, Emma was still shaken.
She’s mourning all her beloved pet fishes, and for Mr. Glow Betta, people commented that Emma did a good job helping him and giving him the best 6 months of his life.
