Sea lions are famous for two things: their adorable bark and their love of fish!
In May 2019, a huge, furry sea lion in South America proved how much sea lions love fish.
This sea lion wandered into the market on a rainy, cloudy day. We aren’t sure why the sea lion chose to go to the market. Maybe he was having trouble finding his own lunch, or maybe he simply wanted a break from fishing. Either way, the market was perfect for him!
The sea lion chose a friendly-looking fisherman and began following him around.
The fisherman noticed his new friend, and he laughed and tossed him a fish. The sea lion was thrilled by this turn of events.
The sea lion began following the fisherman through the market, hoping he would give him more fish.
The fisherman tried to work, but it was hard to concentrate with the huge sea lion next to him! The fisherman and his sea lion had also begun attracting attention—a crowd formed around them.
The fisherman tossed the sea lion another fish, and the sea lion gave a loud bark of appreciation!
The video ends there, but we’re sure the sea lion hung around the market longer—after all, he’d found the perfect place to get free lunch!
The video of the fisherman and sea lion quickly went viral on Facebook, receiving more than 1.6 million views!
Facebook commenters absolutely loved the video. Many people talked about how cute the sea lion was. One commenter wondered if the sea lion was going to spread the word about the market:

This isn’t the first time a cute video of a sea lion at a fish market has gone viral.
In 2013, a man shared a video of a sea lion getting free lunch in the Galapagos. The sea lion also brought some friends—a pelican and an iguana! The hilarious video received over 93,000 views.
