During a hot morning in Los Angeles streets, everyone was caught off guard when a supposedly prehistoric mammal appears on the scene – a Saber-toothed tiger.
What do you do on a hot day? For people in Wilshire Boulevard in L.A., the best thing to do to battle the scorching heat is to grab a delicious ice cream with a friend or even the whole family at the CoolHaus Ice Cream truck. As they were enjoying the delightful treat, little did they know that a certain predator was already out strolling on the sidewalk.
It was an enormous beast, with sharp fangs protruding from its mouth.
It would have astonished you just as much as it did to the pedestrians if you ever happened to pass by this scarily huge cat, especially when this cat was supposed to be already extinct.
Then how come this mysterious creature was strolling down the Wilshire Boulevard, accompanied by some people? Apparently, as the Saber-toothed tigers are indeed extinct, this tiger is but a mere life-sized robot. Regardless, the sight of it alone is scary as even its movements are lifelike.
Before we continue, here are some facts about these long-toothed creatures.
The saber-toothed tiger came from the genus of the extinct machairodont called Smilodon. Named after their unique, long canine fangs that they generally use to hunt prey.
These big cats are often referred to as saber-toothed tigers, but experts call them saber-toothed cats. Moreover, these felines are not actually related to modern tigers.
Although, there is no need to worry as this beast is here for good reason.
Staff from the La Brea Tar Pits are the ones who escorted the Saber-toothed tiger into the open, and that is because they are promoting their Ice Age Exhibit at the museum. Their first destination was beside the CoolHaus ice cream truck, which is always crowded with people. At first, the bystanders were spooked by the tiger, but after a while, they got used to it.
In fact, some brave kids were the first to approach the beast, so they could have a photo along with it. People were enjoying the whole picture-taking scene while the others were letting their kids try and pet the tiger. Looking at this, you’d wonder what else is displayed in the museum’s exhibit.
It could almost do anything like a real big cat would do.
Everyone was amused by how it moves, just as if it’s the real deal. It could sit, nod, blink, and even open its mouth smoothly. Moreover, as he sits down on his spot, it seemed like the tiger was smiling. Kids loved watching the tiger raise its paws or even opening its mouth so wide that they could see for them Everyone would be fooled into believing that the tiger’s real.
The ice-age themed exhibit was way back in 2012 but it would be nice to revisit their exhibit.
The La Brea Tar Pits Museum worked hard to make the exhibit successful, and judging from people’s smiling faces, they were indeed successful. Since the pandemic is still ongoing, unfortunately, the museum is still unavailable. Hopefully, when they reopen, people could gaze upon the wonders of these creatures which walked the earth a long time ago.
