Jennifer Gillispie, founder of Here Kitty Kitty Rescue, was at her local shelter one day, picking up a cat. As she walked through the shelter, she noticed that they had a pot-bellied pig named Porker up for adoption. Here Kitty Kitty Rescue is located on a farm in Indiana, and she knew Porker would fit right in there.

Gillispie brought the three-month-old pig to the farm with her that day.

Gillispie brought Porker out to the barn and introduced him to Here Kitty Kitty’s other pot-belled pig, Hamilton, and their two Pygmy goats, Caesar and Juliet. While Porker got along with all the animals, he couldn’t stay in the barn. Gillispie explained why to Love Meow:

“He was not accustomed to the bitter cold temperatures of the Indiana weather so we decided he could take shelter in the rescue with the cats until he was neutered and grew bigger.”

When he was inside the rescue, Porker met the rescue’s many feline residents. They all greeted them with kisses on the nose. Porker loved the cats, and they loved him right back.

Soon after arriving at the rescue, Porker began imitating his new cat friends. He loves sleeping on the comfy cat beds, and he likes snacking on cat food. He also likes playing with cat toys.

The cats also love spending time with Porker. Gillispie told Love Meow:

“We often find the kitties take a nap with him in the crate and eat side by side as he chooses to sometimes snack on the cat food.”

An orange cat named Pippi has taken a particular liking to Porker.

“Pippi wants Porker to be her friend so she has decided to do pig like things and even eat his food and drink his water,” Gillispie says.

Porker also loves playing with the people who work at Here Kitty Kitty Rescue. He particularly loves chasing them around the house!

Once spring comes around, Porker will be able to get outside more and start spending time with Hamilton. But for now, he’s happy relaxing and playing with his fun cat friends!
