One of the best things that the Internet has given to us is adorable and sometimes funny animal videos. Whether it’s a video of huskies “singing” or scaring cats with cucumbers, these videos will surely put a smile on anyone’s face.
A video of a fawn and a bear cub has been recently making rounds on several social media platforms due to its – you guessed it – heartwarming content. They just met each other for the first time and it was certainly a moment worthy to be captured on camera.
Meet Boog the bear cub and his new friend, a baby deer.
Most bears are territorial and can be quite aggressive – thankfully, Boog is too young for this behavior. In the video, the cute cub was surprised to meet his new housemate.
The video was uploaded on YouTube by DailyPicksandFlicks, along with the caption:
“Boog the bear cub was surprised to see a baby deer standing in his living room. He cautiously went up to to her and tried to be friendly with her. She buffered his attempts, but she eventually warmed up to his curiosity.”
Although we’re not given an exact idea as to why both a fawn and a bear cub are currently living in someone’s house, we can safely assume that this man rescues wild animals and cares for them until they’re ready to go back into the wild.
The most awkward meet-up ever!
In the video, Boog the bear can be seen hesitantly approaching the fawn with a mixed sense of curiosity and confusion. And as if he was testing the waters, he held out his right paw towards the fawn in an attempt to catch its attention.
Boog then tried to get up on his hind legs to make himself look bigger. But the poor cub still was shorter than the baby deer.
“Here’s Boog again, checking out the brand new fawn we got,” the man narrates. “He doesn’t know what to make of it.”
With a little encouragement, the cub became more confident.
Boog wasn’t intimated as he begins to get closer to the fawn. He then raises himself up, leans forward, and gives the fawn a sweet kiss on her nose!
Looks like the adorable smooches worked because the fawn then got closer to Boog and allowed him to give her a few more licks and kisses.
As expected, the viewers’ hearts melted after watching the whole things, as they took to the comments to express their love:
“Tbh, I’m not used to watching a baby bear stand on his hind legs. It’s different, not a bad thing, just different. Also, this vid is cute. I hope they can become, and stay friends,” one person wrote.
“I think he’s skipping the friendzone and aiming directly for relationship. I mean damn, kissing right away? You go bear!”
