As if it isn’t bad enough to completely abandon a dog and leave it behind without any help, the owner of this adorable pup Fae left her behind right near California’s busy Interstate 605, where danger is always looming. Luckily, Fae had caught the attention of a man that was just driving by.
Because of all the noises and fast vehicles crossing by, Fae was too afraid to move to another location and stood silently at the same spot, seemingly waiting until her cruel owner returned to come and get her. Unfortunately, that never happened.
However, the ten-year-old Chihuahua ended up being rescued thanks to the actions of the man that took the effort to go and see if he could help.
The man had no idea how long Fae had already been standing there, as she looked malnourished and didn’t look healthy at all. It took some convincing, but the man managed to take Fae home with him. Because his wife was afraid that Fae might’ve carried one or more diseases, Fae wasn’t allowed to stay.
The man then took her to a place where he knew that she would get the help and love she deserved, Baldwin Park Animal Services. Volunteer Elaine made it her personal mission to bring the happiness back into Fae after hearing about her being abandoned on the highway. According to the shelter, the man that saved her was in tears to drop her off but realized she needed help and treatment to get better.
Fae was missing a couple of her teeth and weighed just seven pounds. It took a while and multiple vet treatments, but the adorable pup started recovering slowly. After getting all the necessary medication to treat her illnesses, Elaine knew that Fae would eventually be back to her old, happy self.
When Fae was healthy enough to be put up for adoption, a man named Gåtor immediately fell in love with her.
It was his fiftieth birthday and it turns out that Gåtor had also been through some harsh circumstances lately, but could find solace in each other.
Gåtor and Fae hit it off really well together and are now the best of friends. It didn’t take long before the man decided to take her home with him.
The adorable Chihuahua’s rescue story is so inspiring, and thanks to a lot of love from the man that rescued her, the volunteer at the animal center and her new owner, she finally was given the chance to be a happy and healthy dog again.
