When Noelani first found Zia shaking in a shelter cage, she immediately knew that she wanted to foster her.

Noelani is mom to her own pack of pit bulls, but she will also go to shelters to pick out dogs that need special foster care and help getting adopted.

“I was like we gotta get that girl. She needs to give birth in a safe place,” Noelani told The Dodo.

Noelani took her home and made sure that Zia was comfy and safe.

She set up a little enclosed area in a plastic pool filled with blankets that Zia could give birth on.

“Zia is ready to go into labor because she’s nesting and moving all the blankets around. So, she’s getting ready for the arrival of her babies,” Noelani said.

Poor Zia look visibly uncomfortable, but that changed as soon as she finally gave birth.

“She really was super relaxed after that,” said Noelani.

Zia had given birth to four puppies that day, each with its own unique personality. Zorro is known as the vocal, “crazy” one of the bunch, while Zoie is the shy and sweet runt of the litter.

Zaina is super adventurous, and Zeus is the mischievous big boy of the group.

“What’s so special is the first time they open their eyes and the first time they really start exploring,” said Noelani. “It’s fun to see them go outside for the first time.”

The little pups got to stretch their legs and run around in the grass at Noelani’s and had lots of absolutely adorable fun doing it.

It wasn’t long before the puppies were 4-weeks-old, which meant they were old enough to be adopted.

Noelani took the family to Fresno Bully Rescue, where each of the puppies already had families who wanted to give them a forever home.

“It’s very comforting to know that these puppies have known love since they were born,” said Mike and Monica, who adopted Zoie.

Some of the people who adopted Zia’s puppies even shed tears when they met their new forever friends.

“My dog Cash recently passed away. And I saw him in her eyes. I didn’t think I’d see that in another dog. I’m just grateful I met her and I’m able to take her home and give her a happy life,” said Zaina’s adopter.

Each of the puppies fit into their new homes seamlessly. They weren’t even nervous. They just walked right into their new home and started exploring before getting comfy.

Zia also got a new forever home. She was adopted by Liz, who saw Zia on Instagram and fell in love with her.

Liz’s middle-aged female pit bull had just crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and she was overjoyed to have a new one in her life.

“To know that we can be a part of a dog finding their forever home and a person finding their forever dog and forever best friend, it’s so rewarding,” said Milani of Fresno Bully Rescue. “I’m very thankful for adopters that choose to give them their forever home.”
