Dogs
Polite doggo knows just how to ask for what he wants
This lab retriever could teach my children a thing or two about manners.

Animals like cats and dogs are territorial, and they would probably do everything to keep their space safe and free from intruders. In fact, they bark away at someone unfamiliar or show them their aggression, and some would even go as far as to disrespect their owners by showing this kind of dominance.

However, not all dogs are savages. In fact, if trained well, some dogs would know how to handle themselves quite politely and are in no way rude to anyone even if they happened to be in their territory.

In fact, dogs have their own favorite spots at home

It might not be their personal bed, but it might just be the house’s welcome carpet, the living room couch, or even your own bed. Some dogs are even weirder, as some have chosen a flowerpot or a full laundry basket as their favorite place in the house. That said, some dogs wouldn’t care that much if someone takes their place, but some would become the canine version of Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper, who’d most likely insist that “it’s their spot.”

This seemingly tired Labrador retriever is an example

In this very short clip, you’ll see a golden retriever casually standing in front of his human. The couch was the dog’s favorite spot. On that day, the pooch seems a little tired and he probably wanted to take a rest, but he sees his owner resting on the couch the moment he arrived.

Clearly, he seems to be not very pleased about it. He’s probably wondering why his owner was there even though he already made it clear that the couch is his. However, he tries to react calmly about the situation and proceeds to use a polite approach to tell his owner off.

He’s very persuasive in his demand

The adorable pooch uses his paw to tap on his owner’s legs as if to gently wake him up. If this dog could talk, he might even tell his owner in a very formal manner like, “Human, this is my resting spot.

I suggest you go back to your own place.” The man then sees his wide-eyed doggo, wagging his tail so relentlessly at him. The guy understood the sign and immediately made way for his dog to take back his rightful spot.

The tired pooch immediately cozied himself on the couch like it’s just another day for him. At the end of the video, you’d see his sweet and satisfying space after finally taking back his spot.

On the other hand, they don’t really care much for our personal space

They would get mad when we take our space but when they do, we aren’t allowed to get mad at them? Isn’t that a bit unfair? They’d even ask for a bit of our food but when we try to grab their bowl away from them, they’d growl at us. However, since we love our dogs so much, we’d tolerate that behavior. Besides, it’s not that bad when your dog wants to grab your attention at times, in fact, it’s quite endearing for them to do so. They are probably the only hypocrites that we could tolerate in our lives.
