New Orleans has created a reputation for itself as a city that loves to party! Through incredible performances, music, and dancing, the city of New Orleans has one of the most unique cultures in the United States.
The culture of New Orleans seems to have rubbed off on more than just humans!
Traveling to the city will, at some point, inevitably bring you to dancing. Whether it’s on the streets, in a bar, or a club, dancing is pivotal to all the festivities that happen there. People can be seen dancing almost any time of the day (and into the night)!
Even the police can’t help but indulge occasionally.
In one incredible video, one uniformed officer shows us their skills with their fast stepping feet! The funny part is that these feet don’t have boots; they have hooves!
Horses seem to love to dance just as much as the people do in New Orleans.
As a human officer rides up to a group of people, the horse he is riding gets a chance to show off its high-stepping skills and dance to the beat. If it wasn’t captured on video, one might not believe the way the horse moves to the rhythm.
Walking up to a group of street performers, we can hear a rapidly beating drum in the background.
Everyone knows that you need a good beat to dance! As the horse and rider walk up, we get to hear that quick rattatata of the steel drums being hit. Coming closer, you might think that the police officer is going to stop the dancers and musicians from their jubilee.
Only, the cop doesn’t stop the dancers; he urges his horse to join them!
Finally, right in front of the group, the music escalates, and the horns come it swinging. Even watching the video, you can’t help but want to sway along! The horse has no such reservations and starts dancing to the rhythm!
Prancing back and forth, the blur of horse and rider becomes apparent.
You simply have no idea how much of the dancing the horse is doing and how much the officer is encouraging! From the looks of things, the officer seems pretty hands-off and is just letting the horse have some fun! Spinning in a circle, the horse comes back and lets us know that it isn’t done yet.
When the crowd sees the incredible horse, people come into the streets to join in.
With a skip and a jump to the side, this horse prances around like a pro. You would think that they had dance lessons to go along with the police training from the way it moves.
In a final display, the horse leans low and stretches out its front legs – it is giving the crowd a bow!
When the horse bows, people cheer and clap at the skill they just watched a horse show! Even in the final bow, the horse still had one more trick, however. As the duo made their exit, they spun around and slowly pranced backward to the beat of the drums.
