This piglet that people didn’t expect to survive is nursed back to health, with a little bit of love from this baby calf, some fruit punch, and a sweet road trip

When this couple, who are also the owners of Sisu Refuge Sanctuary, learned that a tiny piglet had fallen from a delivery truck, they jumped into action and helped save the scared baby animal without even thinking twice.

By the time they got to see the piglet, it was obvious that she was not in the best condition. In addition to the bumps and bruises she got from falling off of the truck, the piglet was also terrified and couldn’t stop shaking.

The couple immediately took the injured piglet home to their animal sanctuary, where she slowly began calming down but still wouldn’t drink any milk

They tried and tried to get the piglet to drink milk, but she remained withdrawn and sleeping most of the day away. This had the couple extremely worried, so they decided to try something else and gave the piglet some of a flavored sports drink.

It worked, although she was picky, she began drinking the Gatorade and they started mixing it with milk replacer so the piglet would get all the nutrients she needed. By day 6, the piglet was starting to come out of her shell and fit right in with the couple’s baby goats.

Being that their sanctuary was so full, they decided it would be best for the piglet to go to a sanctuary with more room.

That’s when they said goodbye to the piglet, and she began her journey on a road trip to Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary with her new baby calf bestie

The baby calf, Eli, was also on his way to Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary and had just been rescued as well, so Jason, who was transporting him to the sanctuary picked Marley the piglet up on the way.

On the road trip to the farm sanctuary located in Gainesville, Florida, Marley and Eli became fast friends and started bonding right away. Before long, Marley and Eli were cuddling in the back seat on their way to their new forever home.

On the way to the sanctuary, Marley and Eli quickly got super close, and Marley even got to stop to see the ocean

Every great friendship comes with at least one good road trip, and that’s exactly how Marley and Eli’s friendship started. By now, Marley had transformed from the scared and injured piglet who had just fallen from a truck, to a thriving and happy piglet with a new best friend.

“When animals come to us, healthcare is obviously important but love is what really helps them thrive,” said, Erin, from Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary.

Marley and Eli love their new home, especially when they get the chance to roam their 45-acre play area together

After “princess” Marley hilariously decides she want bananas rather than milk, she and Eli are introduced to their massive yard that they can frolic together in.
