When a pet goes missing, you hope to find your loving buddy as soon as possible, but the 62-year-old Giorgi Bereziani had almost given up hope on being reunited with his beloved pet.
The man lost his pup, Jorge, back in 2015. The man lives in Tbilisi, Georgia, and has been scouring the capital city for over three years with no success. It also doesn’t help that there are tens of thousands of street pups roaming the country, with most of them roaming around in the nation’s capital.
He looked everywhere and has always put up ads asking people to help or call, but to no avail.
Until now.
Someone spotted a dog that looked like Jorge wandering around in the city.
The person who spotted him, an employee of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the city, phones Giorgi and gave him a slight piece of hope again.
The man did realize that this could have very well been a false lead. He has had many of those over the past few years, and the chances of him finding Jorge back were slimming down by the day.
However, determined to find his pup back even after all these years, Giorgi immediately went to the area where Jorge was reportedly spotted.
The man had a camera in hand and managed to capture this amazing, emotional and heartfelt reunion.
As Giorgi called Jorge’s name, he instantly responded and recognized his beloved owner who he hadn’t seen for almost a thousand days.
The loyal four-footer can’t believe what is happening. Hhis whelps and cries are heard across the entire street when the pup finally sees his owner again.
Right away, the dog is jumping on the man’s leg and he looks like he’s in total disbelief.
The man was completely overwhelmed with emotion by the surprise.
‘Jorge, is that you?”, the man says in Georgian. “Jorg Jorge, it’s you! Oh, dear boy, how are you, boy?”
Their embrace in the middle of the street truly says more than a thousand words. This was the reunion that both have been waiting at least three years for, and it’s a just a warm, true and heartfelt moment. The employee who found Jorge then offered to take the man’s phone and film their interactions.
The loyal four-footer couldn’t wait for his ride home as the two tried to catch up on some long-lost time together. Jorge was also more than happy to say hello to a couple of pedestrians!
It’s not entirely clear what exactly happened these past years, but the most important thing is that they are finally together again.
In those three years, Jorge must’ve been through quite a lot. We can only imagine the special story of this pup and how he managed to survive on the streets for three years.
Jorge does have a yellow tag on his ear, which means that animal control workers must’ve come across the pup in the time he went missing. He was likely taken in, but as is clearly proven by his affectionate personality, the pup was deemed harmless to society. Animal workers would’ve then vaccinated him and released him back on the streets.
With almost 750,000 views on YouTube, this heartwarming reunion footage of Giorgi and Jorge has been seen around the world.
“That dog has never wished for more words to express what he feels more than that moment in his life. I hear his tone though. He is telling a very complex story. Oh little puppy, all will be well now, you lovely thing,” one YouTuber commented.
Even though the chances were very slim, this owner never gave up on finding his loyal pup. It’s safe to say that these two won’t let each other out of their sights for now on. Such a heartwarming reunion video below!
