If you currently own or have ever had a cat, you know just how ornery they can be. Sure, they sleep a lot during the day but when awake, they become active and comical. That’s what keeps you laughing. With a kitty in the house, you never know what to expect.
Nighttime stinkers
Cats are known for waking their owners in the middle of the night. It seems as though right after falling into a deep sleep, they come around. According to experts, there are several reasons for this…some serious and some not so serious.
Kitty behavior
Professionals say that sometimes, cats wake their owners because they’re sick. Other times, they have poor sleeping habits or they want something to eat. Then again, kitties will go to their owner’s bed because they’re bored or simply want attention.
Payback
You know what they say about karma. Well, one guy was tired of his adorable yellow tabby waking him up during the night. So, he came up with a plan to break the habit. He even uploaded a video that’s now been viewed more than nine million times. It’s hilarious.
Sound asleep
In the video, the first thing you see is his kitty sound asleep on the bed. The cat is all stretched out with his eyes shut tight. He’s out like a light.
Stealth mode
Then from the left-hand side of the screen, you see the cat’s owner slowly come into frame. He inches his way closer to his furry friend. Within seconds, he has his face directly in front of the cat. While this is going on, the kitty doesn’t move.
Then it happens
The owner lets out a loud meow. As you would expect, the cat gets up quickly. But instead of running, he just stares at the guy as though thinking, “What wrong with him?” That’s not the end of it.
He keeps going
The loud meow keeps going and going and going. For a brief second, the cat turns away but then he looks back at his owner. He’s totally confused and trying to figure out what in the world’s come over his owner.
Not amused
Clearly, the cat isn’t amused one bit. But as he continues to stare, his owner looks at the camera with a devilish grin. It’s like “ha, so how does it feel to be woken up out of a dead sleep?” The funny thing is, the kitty doesn’t seem all that bothered by it.
“Were you sleeping?”
That’s the question the guy asks his cat. Again, the cat doesn’t do much other than look at his owner with sleepy eyes. He leans back and little and twitches his ears but that’s about it. His owner then tells him, “Don’t meow in the middle of the night.”
Going back to sleep
Although his owner looked and sounded stern, we have a feeling his hilarious prank didn’t have much effect. When he’s done talking, his cat simply lays back down, ready to restart his nap.
