A horrible hit-and-run left this adorable puppy all alone in the cold snow in Alberta, Canada. The accident left her with a broken pelvis.
The seven-month-old German Shepherd pup is named Nutmeg. A few teenagers spotted the injured abandoned pup and called for help.
It took a while for the rescuers to locate Nutmeg because her body heat had melted the snow around her, which made her sink lower towards the ground.
The rescuers eventually found Nutmeg and immediately brought her to an emergency veterinarian, where they patched up her broken pelvis and placed her on pain medication.
Throughout the whole process, rescuers described Nutmeg as sweet and friendly with a joyful attitude.
Thanks to the dedicated rescuers and veterinarian, Nutmeg is a healthy and happy pup, waiting to be adopted by a loving family from the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). The adorable Nutmeg has become the face of AARCS’s campaign to build a new veterinary hospital!
AARCS is working towards building their private veterinary hospital which will help reduce medical costs for customers and their pets, along with providing a safe haven for more homeless and abandoned animals.
