How heartbreaking is it to see animals who were or are victims at the hands of cruel owners? These beautiful creatures deserve to be loved and cared for. And just like everything has balance, there are those who go out of their way to care for abandoned or abused animals.
Horses are truly magnificent animals so it’s a wonder how some people have it in them to neglect those under their care. Well these people are here to help and with their efforts have nursed these horses back to health.
Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue got an anonymous call about some horses that were really malnourished. They knew they had to move right away.
The caller was from Dover Plains, New York and when the rescuers went to check the horses across the river, their hearts broke. Yours would too. All it took was one look to see that these horses were in a horrible state. Good thing the founder of Lucky Orphans went into action to immediately help them.
Poor horses. Rosie was the one in the worst state. It’s a wonder she didn’t drop right then and there, thank goodness. Her hair was torn and matted and her ribs were visible. Poor Rosie also suffered from anxiety. Something common in horses.
Rosie’s daughter, Britt, and another one named Midnight were living in a place totally unsuited for horses.
Rosie’s human friend, Amanda, was more than willing to help when Deanna, Lucky Orphans founder, asked for help.
Imagine, Rosie was literally risking it all just for a bite of grass.
Well Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue are having none of that. Rosie, Britt, and Midnight got their very first baths, got their hooves trimmed and were given plenty of food so they could regain their strengths and get back to being the beautiful horses they were.
Little by little, they were nursed back to health and when the horses were strong enough and ready, the kind humans gave them what they deserved. Freedom.
From the skinny, malnourished animals first discovered to this. Check out their transformation!
They’ve got lovely hair now and no more ribs to show. They gained much needed weight and the best part is they no longer look anxious and scared. Good for you three!
Time to show off then! Amanda and Deanna together with all three horses nursed back to full health go to an open field and there, finally, the horses were allowed to run.
They open the gate and with a little pause as if to let it all sink in, the horses finally gallop freely with no more worries.
Just the thought that those horses were rescued and nursed back to health by the efforts of a few good souls gives hope to many. All it really takes is a kind heart who, out of concern, takes action and rescues abused animals.
These horses were malnourished. They were once just skin and bones with horrible anxiety yet look at them now, full of joy and healthy as ever. Animals need good homes with loving owners. For Rosie, Britt, and Midnight, those horrible days are over. Run free and breathe!
This is the story of Rosie, Britt, and Midnight which you can watch in the video below.
